Who:
Headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, LG.Philips LCD, a leading innovator of thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) technology, will showcase its stunning portfolio of LCDs for desktop monitors, notebook PC and television applications, among others, at the Society for Information Display (SID) Symposium 2002.

When and Where:
LG.Philips LCD’s products will be featured at # 2529 in the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Mass., from May 21-23.

Why:

In addition, the company was ranked number one among TFT-LCD manufacturers in customer satisfaction award in 2002 according to DisplaySearch. LG.Philips LCD has extended its focus beyond traditional and successful notebook and PC monitor markets and is also poised to deliver solutions for consumer electronics products, such as the rapidly growing LCD TV market, as well as other value-added, non-traditional, display-centric markets such as the multimedia, medical and automotive, among others.

What:
A sampling of the latest LG.Philips LCD products and technology to be showcased at SID 2002 includes:

Wide-Screen Format Products

Benefit: LG.Philips LCD’s wide-format (“W” for 16:10 or 16:9 wide-aspect ratio displays) LCDs offer greater horizontal viewing displays that are indicative of modern video devices from HDTV to DVDs. Such wide screens are becoming more popular for conventional desktop computing because they enable simultaneous side-by-side applications, which are known to immediately enhance workplace productivity. The wide-format LCDs also offer users wider viewing angles and slimmer form factors than competitive displays without sacrificing resolution or quality.
· 17W WXGA (or 2.9 mega pixel) for desktop monitors and PCTVs
· 23W UXGA (or 6.9 mega pixel) for monitors and HDTVs
· 30W WXGA (or 2.9 mega pixel) for HDTVs and large information displays

Indoor/Outdoor Transflective LCD Products

Benefit: LG.Philips LCD’s newest line-up of transflective LCDs, which uses reflective light in bright environments and uses transmissive backlighting in dark environments, are an ideal solution for a variety of business-related applications where longer battery life and the ability to adapt to various environments and lighting conditions are extremely critical, such as military and police field activities.
· LC040V01, a 4-inch transflective VGA (or 0.92 mega pixel) display for PDAs
· LC104S1, a 10.4-inch transflective SVGA (or 1.4 mega pixel) display for military PCs and tablet PCs

Transmissive Electric Graphic Input Panel (EGIP) Product

Benefit: Also new to LG.Philips LCD’s cutting edge, for a thinner, integrated solution with less parallax product portfolio is the 10.4-inch transmissive touch screen display, which offers an extremely thin and light glass, utilizing the company’s patented EGIP technology.
· LP104S5, a 10.4-inch transmissive SVGA (or 1.4 mega pixel) for web pads and tablet PCs

Copper Bus Line Products

Benefit: As the first company to successfully develop copper-based interconnect technology, LG.Philips LCD will make cost effective displays with higher brightness and reduced jitters possible.
· 20.1-inch UXGA (or 5.8 mega pixel) for higher brightness applications
· 15-inch QUXGA (or 23.0 mega pixel) for higher resolution applications
