Resource Circulation

Management Approach

LG Display has identified resource circulation as one of the key areas of its ESG management for a sustainable future. We manage four key environmental resources—water, waste, energy, and raw materials—by establishing key indicators and detailed initiatives for each category.

Water Resource

To conserve water resources, LG Display is optimizing production processes and equipment, improving the efficiency of wastewater reuse systems, and expanding reclaimed water facilities. We are working to minimize our environmental impact and continuously improve our water resource management system.

1) Water Withdrawal

Waste

LG Display minimizes the negative impact of its business activities on the environment through systematic waste classification, disposal, and management. We reduce waste generation at the source and improve all process flows from product design and manufacturing to disposal. In addition, we are promoting activities such as obtaining recycling certification and discovering waste recycling technologies and companies to increase the waste recycling rate. Furthermore, we are continuously striving to reduce waste generation and expand recycling through tasks such as expanding the reuse of product packaging materials and using recycled raw materials. Going forward, we will continue to promote various activities with the goal of achieving 100% recycling certified by Zero Waste To Landfill (ZWTL) by 2030.

Energy

LG Display is pursuing fundamental reductions in energy consumption through the implementation of energy-saving initiatives. We are reducing energy consumption by introducing high-efficiency equipment, optimizing processes, and expanding the use of renewable energy throughout the entire product production process.

Raw Materials

LG Display has developed technologies that restore previously discarded raw and auxiliary materials—such as OLED organic materials and N-Methylpyrrolidone (NMP)—to the same quality as virgin materials, enabling their reuse. We have also secured packaging technologies that utilize eco-friendly materials, such as recycled materials and bio-based materials, and are maximizing the resource utilization of product packaging, thereby managing and improving raw material consumption and resource productivity.
