Workplace Safety
LG Display believes that creating a safe and healthy working environment for its employees and suppliers is essential for the company's sustainable activities. To ensure safety in the workplace, we are promoting 4 major safety management innovation measures and 5 key tasks, and have established the LG Display Safety Rules and 8 Pillar Life Rules for safety culture. Safety and health policies are approved annually by the Board of Directors, and the implementation status and key achievements of the plans are regularly reviewed and supervised.
(The plan related to workplace safety and health was approved by the Board of Directors on March 22, 2024.)
Health and Safety Policy
LG Display's safety and health goal is to ‘establish a global workplace by establishing a safety culture in which all employees participate voluntarily.’ To this end, we operate safety and health policies aimed at creating a safe and healthy workplace for all employees and suppliers. We planned and vigorously promoted the ‘Four Major Safety Management Innovation Measures,’ which consist of detailed safety inspections of all workplace sites, strengthening direct control and management of risks, strengthening the safety capabilities of suppliers, and strengthening the authority and capabilities of safety organizations. To this end, we set quantitative targets for improving occupational health and safety (OHS) performance indicators and established a safety management system for all business sites by continuously improving the identified issues. We monitor OHS-related regulations and proactively respond to them, regularly identify potential safety and health risks, and continuously review and improve compliance with regulatory obligations to control safety and health risks across the workplace. In addition, to lay the foundation for achieving zero major accidents, we have selected five key tasks: ‘Establishing a global top-tier safety and environmental system,’ ‘Building a smart safety and environmental system based on DX (Digital Transformation),’ ‘Strengthening emergency response capabilities,’ ‘Establishing a culture of self-regulated safety,’ and ‘Enhancing the safety and environmental capabilities of overseas subsidiaries.’ These initiatives aim to improve risk management capabilities. Through these efforts, we aim to establish workplaces that lead the way in global safety and environmental standards.

Health and Safety Framework
LG Display has established three major goals and principles—changing employee safety awareness, safety behavior, and creating a self-governing safety environment. To take the lead in preventing serious accidents, we have established Safety Rules and 8 Life Rules for eight major serious accident risk tasks. Additionally, the company operates the “8 Pillar Life Rules Accident Prevention Plan,” providing education to supervisors of 3,800 departments on safety devices, confined spaces, heights, electricity, heavy objects, forklifts, fire hazards, and chemical substance work-specific risk points and safety guidelines, and disseminating this information to employees. Furthermore, the company has applied over 400 safety inspection and improvement best practices across the organization to establish a safe working environment and culture through multifaceted efforts.
Moreover, in cases where accidents occur due to violations of LG Display's safety management standards and procedures, we conduct responsibility assessments and safety accident review committees to investigate accident causes and clarify circumstances, thereby establishing and managing thorough measures to prevent recurrence.

Health and Safety Organizational System
LG Display is strengthening its safety and health management by establishing a safety and environment organization under the Chief of Safety and Environment Officer (CSEO). The Chief Safety and Environment Officer establishes and reviews safety and environmental policies for domestic and overseas facilities, builds management systems, and serves as a control tower overseeing safety and health activities and systems across all facilities. They also have CEO-level authority, such as the power to issue a “production stoppage order” to halt production and work when accident risks are detected.
Under the CSEO's oversight, site-specific safety officers are appointed to ensure systematic safety and health management at each site, as well as to establish and operate safety management and emergency response systems for subcontractors. Regular meetings are held to share safety and health status and issues with all management supervisors. Additionally, preventive activities and outcome metrics are mandatory components of the KPIs for executives and management supervisors responsible for safety and health, and these are utilized for evaluation and compensation.
Emergency Framework
LG Display operates a comprehensive emergency management system that enables real-time monitoring of firefighting equipment, utilities, weather conditions, and gas and chemical substance data. The system is supported by specialized personnel trained to quickly disseminate information and respond promptly to emergencies. Each workplace also maintains a 24-hour joint emergency response system to ensure constant readiness. To further strengthen internal emergency response capabilities, LG Display has implemented two-way communication channels and intelligent control systems between sites, established new emergency response bases, and actively manages critical response windows, or “golden time.” The company is also committed to making every employee a disaster prevention agent by providing all staff with fire extinguisher and fire hydrant training, as well as initial emergency response training for those working in high-risk areas. In cases where accidents occur due to violations of internal safety management standards or procedures, LG Display operates a recurrence prevention task force that thoroughly investigates the root cause and develops comprehensive measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Health and Safety Framework
In order to create a safe and healthy working environment, LG Display has established a Health and Safety Framework across our domestic and global sites based on our policies for safety, health, energy, and the environment. Our eight sites at home and abroad are ISO45001 certified. In 2024, we completed the three-year recertification audits for two domestic sites(Paju and Gumi) and one overseas site(Guangzhou, China), as well as annual post-audits for other overseas sites(Vietnam Haiphong and four others). The implementation status of our health and safety system is assessed through regular internal and external audits. Results are reported to the Chief of Safety and Environment Officer(CSEO) to drive continuous improvement.
Reduction of Fundamental Workplace Risks
LG Display's equipment safety certification system evaluates all new equipment introduced within the company to ensure that it complies with domestic and international safety standards. The department in charge reflects safety specifications in all equipment within the company from the time of investment and reconfirms that safety specifications have been reflected through self-evaluation. Additionally, LG Display conducts pre-work risk assessments for all operations conducted within its facilities to identify potential risk factors and evaluate risks. Risk assessments are conducted annually on a regular basis, and additional assessments are conducted as needed when new operations are implemented or accidents occur. Assessment results are quantified into 4 levels, and specific improvement plans are established and implemented based on priority to prevent accidents.
