At CeBit, LG.Philis LCD presents TFT-LCD

Hanover, March 5, 2001: At CeBIT 2001, LG Electronics presents its latest range of monitors in CRT, TFT-LCD and LCoS technology. Several approved and fine tuned CRT-models in the most popular screen diameters of 15, 17 and 19 inch are on offer. For the price sensitive consumer there is the 17“ model 776FM now offering full multimedia capabilities with integrated speakers/Mic. and earphone/Mic. jacks. In addition, LG Electronics shows the refined 915FT+ with its truly flat tube of 19“, a stripe pitch now of only 0.24mm and USB-hub with one up-stream and four down-stream ports.
The Korean technology leader shows lots of new designs in TFT-LCD technology, which is about to conquer offices all over the world. Slim design and low radiation are two of the major reasons to buy TFT-LCD monitors. The star of the show will be the 285LM with its 22“ TFT-LCD screen, WSXGA (1600x1024) resolution, USB-hub, Picture-in-Picture function as well as A/V and S-VHS inputs and optional TV tuner. Further monitor highlights are new TFT-LCD model 885LE with 18.1“ screen, viewing angle of 160 degrees and a resolution of SXGA(1280x1024). With its 15.1“ TFT-LCD screen and side-mounted speakers, the 577LM is the smaller but more reasonable brother of the 885LE and can be expected to develop into a hot seller this year. Rising production scales in the near future will lower prices soon and therefore generate a considerably high market share of the new technology.
On their stand at CeBIT 2001, LG Electronics will present four plasma screens in the new PDP technology: MN-40PA10, MZ-36PZ10, MZ-42PZ10 and MZ-60PZ10. The actual range thus consists of displays in 36 and 60 inches in 16:9 as well as a 40-inch model in 4:3 format. For next year, a 50-inch wide-screen version has been announced recently. In anticipation of higher demands, additional production in Germany is projected. The company offers its display technology for complete TV-sets or PC-monitors, as well as in components for renowned manufacturers of presentation hardware and computer systems.
Also new to the public this year is that LG Electronics presents a full range of mobile phones in dual-band technology (for 900 and 1800 MHz). The upper class model LG-G510 offers GPRS-function (class 8), 78 grams of weight, quick SMS text input and Large LCD(128X128 Dot). It synchronizes with a PC easily and provides many ISDN features like conferencing and call hold/waiting. A 630mAh battery ensures 2.7 hours of talking or 200 hours of stand-by. The voice dialing function makes it a perfect partner in a car. For the more economic shopper LG offers the LG-200 without PC connection and voice dialing, but with all important features for the younger customers like graphical display, SMS, seven games, three attractive colors, phone book and three hour’s non-stop talking time.
LG.Philips LCD Co., Ltd. one of the world’s largest innovators of liquid crystal display (LCD) technology, also unveiled its LCD module for both digital / analog TV and other applications at CeBIT2001. The 15.1” (LM151X) monitor module is the world’s most popular individual TFT-LCD product, selling over one million last year. The 29” Wide (LC290W1) LCD module for Wide LCD TV offers high brightness of 450 cd/㎡, 25 ms response time, a high contrast ratio of 450:1 and an aspect ratio of 16:9. In contrast, the 10.4” (LP104S5) LCD module for mini notebook PC & Web pad, is no more than 5.7 thick and weighs a mere 170g.
