The Supplier of the Year Award program recognizes outstanding companies among Dell’s worldwide suppliers of parts and services that satisfy strict purchasing standards in quality, service and technology, and are judged to have made the greatest contributions to the company.

Dell selected LG.Philips LCD as one of its best suppliers because of its innovative technology, superior product quality and excellence in customer service in 2006.

“We have worked tirelessly to anticipate customer needs and enhance value for customers. This award is very meaningful in that it represents recognition from our customers for such company-wide dedication,” said Woo Shik Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of IT Business Unit at LG.Philips LCD.

Last year, LG.Philips LCD reconfigured its organization into IT, TV and Small and Medium Display business units to respond more effectively to differentiated customer needs. The company also launched its Customer Value Creation Team to spearhead its efforts to create customer value by interviewing clients around the world and forming a customer-oriented corporate culture.

Driven by its customer-value management, LG.Philips LCD ranked first in 2006 LCD market share for notebook computers, accounting for 26.7 percent of total sales. The company also took the top spot in TVs with 23.5 percent market share, and was third in terms of monitor LCD panels, according to analyst firm DisplaySearch.
