LG.Philips LCD receives overall customer satisfation award

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, April 13, 2004-LG.Philips LCD Co., Ltd., one of the world's leading manufacturers of thin-film-transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) technology, today announced that it has received the overall Customer Satisfaction Award from DisplaySearch, a market-research firm (Austin, Texas) for the third consecutive year. In addition, the company was ranked number one in customer satisfaction among TFT-LCD manufacturers in the notebook PC panel category.
The purpose of the DisplaySearch survey was to recognize top-performing companies, to establish a benchmarking process by which LCD customers and suppliers could more effectively assess their relationships, and allow system manufacturers to better understand how the industry perceives its supply base. Specifically, the survey examined notebook PC and flat-panel monitor producers' ratings of TFT-LCD suppliers' performance.
In conducting the survey, DisplaySearch received input from 30 notebook PC and desktop monitor companies, which rated the performance of 15 TFT-LCD suppliers, including LG.Philips LCD, based on the following categories: quality, technology, logistics, commercial terms, and service and support.
According to DisplaySearch's President, Ross Young, "LG.Philips LCD received the highest combined customer satisfaction rating, thus making them the number one TFT-LCD supplier in overall customer satisfaction for the third consecutive year in a row. Furthermore, the company received the top rating for customer satisfaction in TFT-LCD notebook panels."
DisplaySearch announced the results for its 4th Annual Customer Satisfaction Survey during its annual U.S. FPD Conference, which was held March 30-April 1, 2004 in San Diego, Calif.
