LG LCD announced that for a prompt response we have installed Problem Alarming System, which signals to the entire department all kinds of problems or symptoms of problem at the plant site on real-time basis through CATVs, before the plant resumed the normal operation.
If a supervisor or an engineer detected a problem such as spare parts shortage or inferior goods, he or she should input the problem at a computer terminal, and its alarm spread to the entire department simultaneously through CATVs. As soon as the responsible department disposed of the reported problem and input the solution feedback, the first reporter would call off the alarming after verifying the trouble shooting by the responsible department. Until the responsible party takes a right measure, the alarming system will repeat the broadcasting warning every 30 minutes. Therefore, we are very sure that all production lines would get prompt and affirmative supports for their requests. After a problem is resolved, the report will be recorded at our database so that it can be used for a quick solution when the same problem occurs again. If there is any problem report, it will be reflected on the graphs of ‘Daily Production Record’, or ‘Monthly Production Record.’ Workers at the plant site may review the results as a way to enhance the productivity. As we monitor the entire process of the plant with the around-the-clock Problem Alarming System, we can improve our competitiveness in production cost and delivery time being able to solve problems in time and to shorten the time of problem solving.
