LG Display Sponsors Polish Famous Table Tennis Player

Seoul, Korea (December 16, 2008) - LG Display (NYSE:LPL, KRX:034220), one of the world’s leading TFT-LCD manufacturers, today announced that it has agreed the sponsorship program with Ms. Natalia Partyka, the one of most famous table tennis player in the world.

Based on the agreement, LG Display will give the financial support which is needed for her training activities in 2009 and Natalia Partyka will show up in the event of LG Display such as friendship match or bazaar event. And this is first time that LG Display sponsors an athlete.

Jung Ung Yeu, President of LG Display Poland said, “Since LG Display Poland LCD Module Plant began it mass production in early 2007, we achieved the good results that our operation in Poland was so successful that Poland becomes the country that makes the most of the LCD modules in the Europe.”

He added, “We, LG Display are amazingly impressed by Ms. Natalia Partyka outstanding plays at the Beijing Olympics which could only be done by hard training for long time. And since we’ve been trying to find the way to do an appropriate role as a company citizen in Poland, we think this is a very good opportunity for us.”

Natalia Partyka said “It is a great pleasure for me. The support from LG Display will secure me the comfortable training conditions and let me prepare better for the competitions next year ? for domestic games and World Championship 2009. With the support of LG Display I would like to spend more time on popularization table tennis among young people.”

Natalia Partyka is a Polish table tennis player. Born without a right hand and forearm, she participates in competitions for able-bodied athletes as well as in competitions for athletes with disabilities.

Partyka won her first international table tennis medal in 1999, at the disabled World Championships. In 2004, she won a gold medal in the singles event and a silver medal in the team event at the Athens Paralympics. She competed in both the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Paralympics - one of only two athletes to do so. And she won a gold medal in the singles event and a silver in the team event at the Beijing Paralympics.
