LG Display aims to achieve win-win growth with local communities through customized CSR activities that meet the needs of local communities. LG Display strives to become a global company that fulfills its social responsibilities throughout its business sites in Korea and around the world.

IT Power Plant: Addressing the digital divide through IT Power Plant for foster care facilities The IT power plant is LG Display's representative CSR activity that supports the setting up of environments for IT trainings to address the digital divide for underprivileged children. In 2021, LG Display carried out a project to reinforce the functions of five existing facilities in Korea, and established a new IT power plant in Hải Phòng, where the Vietnamese subsidiary is located. As of 2022, a total of 58 facilities have been opened, and facility enhancements are ongoing. LG Display will continue to carry out IT Power Plant projects that best reflect its business characteristics.

Dream Realization Project: LG Display provides opportunities for underprivileged people to realize their dreams and grow by providing customized support for them according to their plans for the future. The Dream Realization Project helps underprivileged people of all ages and genders to realize their dreams and grow by providing customized support to fit their plans for the future. The Dream Realization Project, first launched in 2021, has supported marathon runners, young flutists and young students with disabilities to realize their dreams. LG Display will continue to support them for the next five years and help the underprivileged to realize their dreams. LGD Wings of Hope Club: Educational support for gifted youth from low-income families through a scholarship society sponsored by LGD executives and employees Since 2011, LG Display has been supporting gifted youths in arts and sports and science and engineering fields who are experiencing financial hardship through the Wings of Hope Talent Nurturing Program sponsored by executives and employees. In 2021, along with World Vision, LG Display helped 18 young people, and since then, 181 young people have gone on to various high schools and universities and achieved excellent results in domestic and foreign competitions.

Eye Health Keeper Program: Spreading the importance of eye health through eye health projects Considering the fact that the prevalence of myopia in children and adolescents increases due to the early use of IT devices, LG Display runs an eye health promotion program for preschoolers and elementary school students. To help children easily understand the importance of eye health, LG Display has hosted the eye health musical Chorong Chorong Eye Health Class for children in culturally marginalized regions on a regular basis, and spreads the importance of eye health by conducting eye examinations for children in medically vulnerable areas while complying with prevention measures.

Improving the environment for the village to help people with dementia In order to create a healthy living environment for dementia patients in Paju and Gumi, LG Display provided care products and nutritious food to families with dementia. In addition, it strives to create an environment conducive to people with dementia by improving the environment and reinforcing safety facilities in the dementia-friendly village in Paju.

Created an ecological forest composed of bird cherry trees along the Sunae Stream in the DMZ To celebrate World Environment Day in June, LG Display employees planted 600 young bird cherry seedlings incubated in each home or company along the Sunae Stream in the DMZ to restore the ecological forest.

Environmental improvement activities in forests near LG Display Paju Complex LG Display strives to develop the local environment, such as reducing negative environmental impacts and revitalizing contaminated areas by supporting the stacking of retaining bags in Wollong Mountain, located near its Paju Complex.

Create a safe community in cooperation with local government offices LG Display, in cooperation with the local police station, installed solar lights in the village community center to improve nighttime illumination, greatly helping local residents to feel safer and preventing crime. LG Display also helped build a safe Gumi city by supporting residential firefighting facilities and improving the working environment of firefighters for rural villages located far from the fire station.

LG Dream Fund and Electronic Donation Box LG Display encourages employees to voluntarily participate in donations through the online donation platform LGDream Fund and electronic donation boxes installed at each business site. In 2021, about 5,000 employees donated KRW 300 million to help underprivileged children and neighbors in need in Korea and abroad.

Donation campaign ‘Miracle of Christmas’ to help children from low-income families Miracle of Christmas is a donation campaign in which LG Display employees become Santa Claus for children from low-income families. Thanks to so much participation, around 1,000 children received Christmas gifts in 2021.

Guangzhou subsidiary promoted charity for neighbors in need On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, volunteers from three Guangzhou subsidiaries orginized charity activities for neighbors in need such as the elderly living alone, and delivered milk and honey as gifts.

Nanjing subsidiary delivers gifts to environmental cleaners Volunteers from the Nanjing subsidiary delivered gifts composed of thermal products and household and health products to sanitation workers working in the Nanjing Regional Development Zone to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Yeontae subsidiary holds ‘Fruit of Love’ donation event Yantai Subsidiary has established a long-term partnership with a special needs school in Yantai City and continues to fulfill its responsibilities as a social enterprise through the Fruit of Love event every winter. In 2021, it donated 810 kg of apples to Yantai Special Needs School.

Vietnam subsidiary organizes cleaning activities at Martyrs Cemetery The Vietnamese subsidiary has been carrying out various social contribution activities to foster community spirit and coexist with the local community, including cleaning up the An Dương public cemetery located in An Dương District, Hải Phòng City.
