Waste Discharge and Management
LG Display strives to minimize the negative environmental impact of its business activities by establishing a waste discharge and management system. It develops and promotes a company-wide resource recycling system to fundamentally reduce the amount of waste generated, and makes best efforts to increase the recycling rate of waste by cooperating with various stakeholders. LG Display will continue to make relentless efforts to reduce waste emissions at domestic and overseas business sites.
Waste Recycling
In order to maximize waste recycling, LG Display has developed and applied a technology to separate the film from the waste glass, which used to be completely landfilled due to the film attached to the waste glass, to achieve 100% recycling. High-concentration waste acid, which was previously neutralized, is also completely recycled thanks to the joint development of recycling technologies with partner companies. Furthermore, LG Display has established a resource circulation system through various recycling technologies such as high value-added of waste resources by developing pulp recycling technology and protective film (PET) fiber raw material technology, and securing resources by developing a copper recovery system contained in wastewater sludge, and has been generating profits by selling waste resources.
