LG Display practices its eco-friendly vision to create cleaner future.
LG Display's hazardous material management system ensures the use of hazardous material is blocked in advance in all steps from manufacturing to storage and transport of products. It enables LG Display to proactively cope with various customer requirements, improve LG Display's eco-friendly image, and continuously strengthen the eco-friendly competitiveness of products.
LG Display are conducting its own evaluation for the goal and performance management on eco-friendly product development by adopting the evaluation index called “Eco Index” from the product development stage. The eco-friendly product evaluation standard is steadily strengthening on resource, energy, and harmful substances thereby extending the customer-oriented eco-friendly product development.
The testing standards, which are required by the ISO/IEC 17025 and IEC 62321 international standards, in the LG Display Analysis Team have been recognized from the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) since 2005 and TÜV (German Technical Inspection Association) since 2009 (the accreditation items: heavy metals, flame retardants, and halogen, etc.) in response to the eco-friendly requirements from customers to comply with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances within electrical and electronic products.
LG Display has actively participated in the standardization activities of international RoHS analysis methods. LG Display proposed the combustion ion chromatography (IC) method, which is the halogen-free testing method, as the IEC standard, after participating in the revision of IEC 62321, which is the RoHS international testing standard, and published the official standard (standard name: IEC 62321-3-2) in 2013.
